Car crashes remain the number one killer of children ages 3 to 14. Always use the proper Child Safety Seat. If your child has outgrown their booster seat, make sure they use a seat belt. Children 12 and under should always ride in the back seat. Children learn from adult role models, so wear your seat belt correctly every time you are in the car.
Missouri Child Restraint Law RSMo 307.182:
Florissant Valley Fire Protection District currently has two "certified" child passenger safety technicians. To become certified, technicians attend a four day long course. Our technicians will provide installation assistance and will demonstrate proper Child Safety Seat use. They will inspect Child Safety Seats to ensure they are safe. We provide low cost Child Safety Seats for those in need.
Child Safety Seat installation assistance is available when our technicians are on duty. Please call (314) 837-4894 to see when the technicians are working next or questions can also be answered and appointments scheduled by e-mail: stuley@fvfpd.com
