Steve Gettemeier is the Fire Marshal for the Florissant Valley Fire Protection District. Steve has been employed by the Fire District since 1976 and was promoted to Fire Marhal in 1993. As the Fire Marshal, Steve is responsible for fire and life safety issues within the fire district, and reports directly to the Fire Chief. Steve is an active member of the Fire Marshals Association of Missouri and Metro St. Louis Fire Marshals Association. He holds memberships in two professional fire investigation associations and is a member of several building and fire prevention code groups. Steve serves as an adjunct instructor for the Missouri Division of Fire Safety, University of Missouri Fire and Rescue Training Institute, and the St. Louis County Fire Academy. Steve holds State certifications for Fire Inspector, Fire Investigator and Fire Instructor. Steve also is a Board of Director for St. Louis County Fire Academy.
